How does one become an apprentice?...  I was told about work camps and I’d like to work there...  I only need a part time or seasonal job...  How is it for trade workers here in Alberta?...  How long does the training take?...  Am I eligible for income support?...  What are the criteria to become an apprentice?

“Trade Secrets” is meant for trade workers newly arrived in Alberta. Participants will explore three different paths to choose from depending on their experience, to start the process of becoming a certified trade worker in Alberta.

This workshop covers the job market; unionized and non-unionised jobs in small, medium and large companies; work rules and regulations; workplace health and safety; apprenticeship training programs; trade certification; red seal and various provincial programs regulating trades in Alberta. The facilitator will provide numerous tips to participants.
