Program description
The Job Placement program provides personalized job search assistance to French-speaking people that are legally entitled to work in Canada and live in the Greater Edmonton area.
Pre-employment and job placement services
According to your needs, employment counsellors will provide a variety of free pre-employment and job placement services.If you wish to determine a career path, go back to school for additional training or postsecondary education, an employment counsellor will offer:
- A variety of workshops for self-discovery and to determine professional interests
- Career counselling
- English for work conversation workshops (2.5 hours/day – Monday – Friday)
- Individual support until you reach your academic or career goal
If you wish to find a job, the employment counsellor will offer you:
- Weekly meetings and follow-ups
- Writing and/or revision of your curriculum vitae and cover letter
- Workshops to facilitate your job search and give you the tools to stand out to a potential employer
- English conversation workshops (2.5 hours/day – Monday – Friday)
- Individual support until you achieve your employment goal
- Tools and techniques to apply for jobs online
- Free exposure courses based on your employment goals and transportation assistance as needed

Exposure courses
Accès emploi offers a variety of free exposure courses to increase your employment opportunities, including:
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) – French and English
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) – English only
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) – English only
- Fall Protection – English only
- First Aid – French and English

Eligibility
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Self-identified French-speaking
- 18 years of age or older
- Alberta resident
- Canadian citizen, or permanent or temporary resident with a valid Canadian work permit
- Ready, willing and able to work
